Terms & Conditions
From Chaos To Connection Communtiy Cohort
At Peace Talks, we believe in fostering a world where everyone’s needs are heard, recognized, and deeply considered through the art of dialogue. We are committed to creating a space where communication and mutual understanding are at the core of our offerings.
Before you proceed, we would like to check if you agree to the following points. If you would like any adjustments to be made in these Terms and Conditions, please reach out to us directly. We are open to a dialogue to ensure the text works for everyone involved:
Fees
This Programme is offered on a Gift Economy basis, meaning there is no fixed fee. The main facets of our Gift Economy approach include:
- Community Care: An attempt to recreate a world where we care for each other, acknowledging that our well-being is inextricably tied to one another and that we have agency in creating a world focused on need, not greed.
- Accessibility: A commitment to ensuring our teachings and support are accessible to a wide range of people, regardless of financial circumstances. We aim to ensure that the care and guidance we offer flow directly to those who need them, no matter their ability to pay.
- Financial Sustainability: While the programme is offered in a Gift Economy spirit, this does NOT mean it is free or without financial value. Teaching these programmes is the primary way we support ourselves and our families financially. Your contribution enables us to meet our basic needs so we can live, care for our families, and continue this work we love from a resourced place.
Suggested Contribution
We suggest contributions between $425 and $3499 NZD (in addition to the deposit), based on what would allow us to sustain our work and care for our families. Contributions above or below this range are welcome, as the intention is to support the programme within your means.
Deposit
To confirm your registration, we require a deposit of $270 NZD. This amount covers the direct costs associated with offering the programme, such as the online programme platform and Zoom software.
- The deposit is refundable up to two weeks before the programme start date.
- If you cancel your registration within two weeks of the programme start date, the deposit will not be refunded, as it becomes challenging to fill your spot on short notice.
Commitment
By registering for this programme, you agree to engage with the Gift Economy process. At the end of the programme, we invite you to reflect on your experience and determine an amount you are willing and able to contribute.
We ask that you complete your payment within one week of the final Zoom session (unless you have made arrangements with us about a payment plan). This timing allows for payment to be made with a sense of gratitude and connection to the value you received, rather than out of obligation. If you prefer to make your payment earlier, you are welcome to do so.
If you choose to leave the programme before its completion, we ask that you still engage with the Gift Economy process. Please take into account the energy and resources required to organize the programme and the opportunity cost of your reserved place, which could have been offered to someone else.
Programme Cancellation by Peace Talks
In the event that fewer than 9 participants sign up for our programme, Peace Talks reserves the right to cancel the programme no later than 7 days before the scheduled start date. If this happens, we will refund any pre-payments within 2 weeks of the cancellation announcement.
Health Disclosure
It is your personal responsibility to inform the trainer(s) of your health status (physical and mental) and/or use of any medication. This is to ensure safety, clarity, and the appropriate support throughout the programme, both for you and the trainer(s).
Liability Disclaimer
Neither Peace Talks nor its trainers are liable for any physical and/or psychological damage that you claim to have acquired due to participation in the programme. This is to ensure we have a shared understanding of ‘self-responsibility.’
We encourage you to speak up if anything does not feel safe to you at any time. Please be gentle with yourself and take any necessary measures to care for your well-being. Safety is of utmost importance to us, and we recognize that everyone has different ways of caring for it. We are here to support you in this process.
Online Session Recording
We may record our Zoom sessions for our own learning purposes. Your privacy and sense of safety are important to us, and recordings will only be used in this context, unless we make a separate request and receive your explicit consent.
By joining the sessions, you consent to being recorded, with the understanding that your comfort and confidentiality will be respected at all times.
Confidentiality
All communication with Peace Talks (within and outside of the programme) will be handled with strict confidentiality. Participant information is securely saved on our Google Drive.
Time and Presence Commitment
A crucial aspect of this programme is learning to care for our needs, which means embracing the art of slowing down. We invite you to pause and reflect on this commitment:
This Community Cohort programme requires regular engagement for effective learning and integration. While you can go through the content at your own pace, we ask that you fully cover each unit before the week’s live session. On average, we recommend dedicating 30 minutes per day in addition to the Zoom sessions. This includes watching videos, reading weekly emails, engaging with the community on WhatsApp, and completing exercises. Please take a moment to reflect on this weekly commitment and how it can fit into your schedule.
Your consistent presence at the live sessions is invaluable for both contributing to and benefiting from the shared learning experience. Be sure to check the session times and plan your schedule around them.
